These Terms of Service govern use of TipDirect at tipdirect.co.uk. By creating an account, scanning a TipDirect QR code, or sending a tip, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Operator: TipDirect. Company registration number and registered office: [to be completed - Muhamed]. Contact: support@tipdirect.co.uk.
1. What TipDirect is
TipDirect helps door-to-door and courier workers in the UK receive cashless tips. A worker shares a unique tip page or QR code. A customer tips online; funds are directed to the worker's chosen wallet (for example Revolut, PayPal, Monzo, or Stripe Express), subject to payment provider rules and successful settlement.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract under UK law.
- Workers authenticate with email one-time passcodes and/or Google sign-in. Keep your login details secure.
- You must provide accurate information. We may suspend accounts that appear fraudulent or misleading.
3. Tips, minimums, and the cover fee
- The minimum tip amount is £1.
- A 29p cover fee may be charged in addition to the tip to help cover payment processing and platform costs. The tip page will show amounts before you confirm.
- Tips are voluntary gifts from tippers to workers. TipDirect is not the employer of workers and does not set wages or employment terms with delivery networks.
- Settlement timing depends on the payment rails and wallet providers. TipDirect does not guarantee instant availability in every wallet.
- Chargebacks, failed payments, or provider holds may reverse or delay a tip. We may adjust records accordingly.
4. QR codes, branding, and white-label
By default, tip pages and printable materials use TipDirect branding. Paid white-label options may be offered separately under additional commercial terms. You must not misuse QR codes to impersonate another person or business.
5. Verification and Verified badge
Workers may submit proof-of-work documents or images so we can review eligibility for a Verified badge. Submission does not guarantee approval. We may revoke verification if information is outdated, inaccurate, or abused. Verification materials are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use TipDirect for money laundering, fraud, or illegal activity
- Harass, threaten, or scam tippers or workers
- Collect tips under a false identity or for work you did not perform
- Interfere with the security or availability of the platform
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse APIs beyond normal use of the product
- Upload unlawful, offensive, or infringing content
We may investigate and suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these rules are broken.
7. Tippers
When you tip, you confirm you are authorised to use the payment method and that the tip is voluntary. Tip amounts and optional messages may be visible to the worker. Refunds are handled case by case and may depend on payment provider policies.
8. Intellectual property
TipDirect branding, software, and site content are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited licence to use the service as offered. Do not copy our marks in a way that confuses customers, except where we provide branded materials for your own tip QR use.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim for reliable uptime but do not warrant uninterrupted access. Wallet availability, network outages, and third-party payment failures are outside our full control.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, TipDirect is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from tipper/worker disputes unrelated to a proven platform defect. Our aggregate liability arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the cover fees you paid us in the three months before the claim or (b) £50.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using TipDirect at any time. We may suspend or close accounts for breach of these terms, legal risk, or prolonged inactivity. Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits and IP) continue after termination.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after the updated date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by law. Material changes may be highlighted on the site.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply if you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK.
